Who this is for

Streamers whose best moments disappear into a VOD that nobody rewatches. You stream three or four nights a week, you know there were clips in there, and you also know that scrubbing through twelve hours of footage is a second job. Hiring a video editor for streamers fixes that: we watch the VOD so you do not have to, and hand you back the pieces that grow a channel off Twitch.

The usual goals are a YouTube channel that finally gets consistent uploads, and TikTok, Shorts and Reels that funnel new viewers into the live stream. Both come from the same VOD, and one plan covers both.

What Twitch highlights editing includes

  • Highlight selection. We review the full VOD, your Twitch clips and any timestamps you send, and pick the moments that hold up without the live context: reactions, clutches, chat moments, fails and bits.
  • YouTube highlight videos. 8 to 20 minute cuts with an opening hook, tight pacing, captions, sound design, music, chapters and an end screen. These count as long-form edits.
  • Vertical clips for TikTok, Shorts and Reels. Facecam and gameplay reframed into 9:16 with a split or stacked layout, word-timed captions, punch-ins and a hook in the first three seconds. These count as standard shorts.
  • Stream recaps and best-of montages. Weekly recaps, "best of the month" videos, or a montage synced to music for a milestone.
  • Audio cleanup. Leveling between your mic, game audio and alerts, and removal of dead air, loading screens and away-from-keyboard stretches.
  • Chat and alert moments. When a chat message or a sub alert is the joke, we frame it so it reads on a phone.
  • Thumbnails on Growth and Pro plans, with fully illustrated thumbnails available to anyone for $30.

How to send us a VOD

The simplest route is a link to the past broadcast on Twitch; we download it from there. If you keep a local OBS recording, send that instead: Twitch re-encodes VODs at a lower bitrate, so a local recording gives a noticeably cleaner YouTube video. Files can go into our shared Dropbox folder or straight to us on Discord.

Twitch deletes past broadcasts after 7 days for most streamers, 14 days for Turbo and Prime users, and 60 days for Partners. Send the link soon after the stream, or enable local recording in OBS so nothing is lost.

Timestamps help but are not required. A few notes like "2:14:30 the raid" or a chat command that marks moments during the stream speeds up the edit. With no notes at all we still find the highlights; it just takes the editor a little longer on a very long VOD.

Turnaround

Vertical clips are delivered in 24 to 48 hours. Full highlight videos are same-week. Growth plans get 24-hour priority turnaround, and Pro plans can request same-day rush for a clip you want out while the stream is still fresh. The free trial edit, one vertical clip from your VOD, is delivered within 24 hours of receiving the link.

What Twitch VOD editing costs

Every plan is a flat monthly subscription. Plans are measured in standard shorts, and for streamers a standard short is one vertical clip with captions and sound design. A YouTube highlight video cut from a full VOD counts as a long-form edit. Simple clip edits, such as trimming an existing Twitch clip and adding captions, count as two to three per standard short.

PlanPriceShort-formOr long-formOr clipsTurnaround
Lite $159/molaunch sale, regularly $249 5 vertical clips ≈2 highlight videos up to 12 simple clips 48-hour turnaround
Starter $279/molaunch sale, regularly $439 10 vertical clips ≈4 highlight videos up to 25 simple clips 24-48 hour turnaround
Pro $849/molaunch sale, regularly $1,299 40 vertical clips ≈13 highlight videos up to 100 simple clips Same-day rush available

Every plan includes unlimited revisions and can be canceled anytime. Long-form counts are typical, not fixed: a simple episode stretches the allowance further, a heavy edit uses more of it, and we confirm exactly where your videos land after your trial edit. Full details on the pricing page.

Example: a streamer on Growth at $499/month might take one YouTube highlight video per week plus five or six vertical clips, and get a dedicated editor who learns their stream. How many highlight videos fit in a month depends on how long your VODs run, and we confirm exact numbers after your trial edit.

How the process works

  1. 01

    Send the VOD

Paste the Twitch VOD link, or drop a local recording in Dropbox or Discord. Tell us what you want out of it: a YouTube highlight, a set of TikToks, or both.

  2. 02

We find and cut the moments

An editor watches the broadcast, pulls the highlights, reframes for vertical where needed, adds captions, sound design and music, and runs quality control.

  3. 03

    You post, we revise

Finished videos arrive over Dropbox, email or Discord with titles suggested if you want them. Revisions are unlimited on every plan.

What makes us different

Most editing agencies learned about live audiences from a slide deck. We learned by running one. Grand Theft Studios was founded by the team behind Grand Theft Minecart, a GTA-inspired Minecraft server that has held a live community for more than ten years and over a million players. Watching what keeps people in a server is the same skill as watching what keeps people in a stream, and it shows in which moments our editors pull from a VOD.

Our editors also run channels of their own, so they know the difference between a clip that was funny live and a clip that is funny to a stranger scrolling TikTok. Every video is hand-edited. We do not use AI caption dumps or a highlight-detection tool that grabs whatever chat spammed at.

Twitch VOD editing FAQ

Do you edit Just Chatting, IRL and non-gaming streams?

Yes. Reactions, conversations, cooking, music and IRL streams all cut well into clips and highlight videos. The gaming background helps with game streams, but the editing process is the same for any category.

Do I have to pick the highlights myself?

No. Send the VOD and we review it. Timestamps or a list of Twitch clips speed things up and make sure we include the moments you care about, but they are optional.

Can you make both a YouTube video and TikToks from one stream?

Yes. That is the most common request. The YouTube highlight video counts toward your long-form allowance, and each vertical clip counts toward your short-form allowance. You can mix them however you like inside a plan.

What quality are Twitch VODs?

Twitch stores VODs at your stream resolution, usually 1080p at 60 frames per second, but re-encoded at a lower bitrate than your OBS output. VODs are perfectly usable for YouTube and TikTok. A local OBS recording is cleaner if you have one.

Do you edit Kick or YouTube Live VODs?

Yes. Any platform's past broadcast works, as does a local recording from OBS, Streamlabs or a capture card.

What about copyrighted music in my stream?

Tell us which segments used licensed music and we cut around them, duck the audio, or replace the track with cleared music so the YouTube upload is not claimed. We cannot remove music baked into a single audio track, so a separate music track in OBS is worth setting up.

How many streams can you handle per month?

As many as your plan covers. A Pro plan at $849/month covers 40 vertical clips or about 13 highlight videos, and Custom plans exist for streamers or networks who need more. Email [email protected] for a quote.
